Where does Team Frank Africa work?
We have completed three pre-school projects in Mpumalanga Province in South Africa. We have also supported soccer programs for at-risk youth in Kenya, Rwanda, South Africa, Ghana, Togo, Uganda and Nigeria.
I don’t currently have the financial means to donate. How else can I help?
As a small grassroots organization, one of the most important ways you can help is to share our story with friends, family, and coworkers either by word of mouth or by sharing our story on social media. For example, some of our members have designated Team Frank Africa as their “cause of choice” for their birthday, holiday or graduation in lieu of traditional gifts.
Where is Team Frank Africa based?
Team Frank Africa Inc. is based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Team Frank Africa is a registered Canadian Not-For-Profit Corporation established in September of 2017.
Can I get a tax receipt when I donate in CAD?
Currently, we cannot provide tax receipts. We are working towards becoming a Canadian registered charity by 2021.
How do I donate from the United States? Can I get a tax receipt?
Yes, since 2017 all U.S. donations have received a tax receipt from our trusted partner, Africa Foundation USA. Africa Foundation USA is a separate independent public charity organized under the laws of the United States.
Team Frank Africa USA has applied for a 501c(3) charitable status in the USA. *We will be accepting U.S. donations directly by 2021.
Who is Africa Foundation?
Africa Foundation is an independent tax-exempt non-profit organisation registered in South Africa and based in Johannesburg, with partner non-profit organisations in the USA and UK. Since 1992, Africa Foundation has supported the development of sustainable projects that empower rural communities in Africa.
How does Team Frank Africa work with the Africa Foundation?
Africa Foundation coordinates all of the logistics for our construction projects and works with their regional office in Mpumalanga Province.
Why does Team Frank Africa build preschools?
Unfortunately, 63% of youth in South Africa live in poverty and do not have access to early childhood education. Early education plays a crucial role in helping young children meet their full potential. Therefore, building preschools creates opportunities for the most vulnerable children.
Where does my donation go? How does this support your schools?
100% of our donations are given directly to Africa Foundation and to the children at our schools (uniforms, soccer balls, school supplies). Each project consists of two classrooms, a kitchen, one borehole, five enviroloos, a playground, and a fence.
What are your funding and administrative costs?
Team Frank Africa consists of over 100 volunteers. We have no paid staff or office space. 100% of funds raised/donations go directly to the children and the communities we support. All fundraising expenses are donated by our numerous supporters and all travel expenses are the sole responsibility of the individual volunteer.
As a yound person, how can I help Team Frank Africa?
You can organize an event in your area. Please contact email@example.com if you would like further support. Some examples have included organizing high school fundraising initiatives (free dress days, bake sales, sports tournaments). We also accept volunteers for our local fundraising events.
